Security Issues at Oleander Pointe Condo

Oleander Pointe- A Private Waterfront Community And Yacht Club in Cocoa, Florida

During the October 2025 Board of Directors’ meeting, several issues concerning security of the condo property and residents were discussed.

David Bethay presented a discussion on recent security issues and options for increased safety.  During 2025, OPCA has experienced an increase of trespassing on the property. Trespassers are more aggressive and are fishing on the property, stealing from the boats or from the property, and using the pool or facilities.

Trespassers climb over the gates on the north and south entrances and between the buildings. Potential improvements include installing security cameras, alteration of the fencing, and more able bodied physical security.  Discussion included legal restrictions and Florida statutes. Many attendees voiced their opinions and desire for some type of enhancement.

The City of Cocoa Police Department offers a site survey to enhance crime prevention which was completed recently.
